Utilization of Sodium Hydroxide (Naoh) to Treat Used Tyres as Sand Partial Replacement in Engineered Cementitious Composites

Engineered cementitious composites (ECC) is distinct for the tensile strain-hardening behaviourand ductility contrasting to quasi-brittle nature of ordinary concrete. The blended materials ECC only consist cement, sand, water, fibre, and admixture. depleting limited resources sand in many countries have led research on alternative replace partially or fully concrete mixture. Therefore, this study aims utilize crumb rubber (CR) as a partial replacement enhance energy dissipation capacity composite. additional CR cause reduction compressive strength due its smooth surface resulting less bonding with cement matrix. Hence, being treated 10% sodium hydroxide (NaOH) improve roughness adhesion between matrix composites. results contained duration 2 days 4 were recorded. Two optimum treatment using lessen rubberized engineered (R-ECC).
